Project managers coordinate and oversee a project from start to finish, defining project goals and making sure that the project is completed on time and within budget and that the final deliverables meet all of the necessary requirements.
The main difference between a project manager and a program manager is that a project manager leads individual projects, while a program manager oversees multiple projects, usually within a specific portfolio. Project managers focus on the day-to-day tasks and execution of individual projects, while program managers focus on long-term strategic goals.
Both project managers and program managers need to be clear communicators, process-oriented, and able to analyze data. They should also be familiar with industry-specific systems and project management software.
