How much does a professional resume writer cost?

My fee for a new resume and LinkedIn profile starts at $500 for less complicated projects. Resumes for mid-career professionals typically cost $650 to $1,500. After I review your current resume and the jobs you are targeting, I’ll provide you a firm quote.

Who will actually write my resume?

I do not outsource to anyone; when you chose me as your resume writer, you work one-on-one with me.

Will you use AI to write my resume?

No! AI doesn’t know your career story; it only scrapes the internet for information that is publicly available. When you work with me, I help you develop the content based on our written or verbal conversations, never with AI.

What is your resume writing process?

You send me your current resume and three to four job postings for the roles you want. I review them, give you a firm quote, and send a client agreement. I then write a summary of qualifications that states your professional brand, draft the resume, and revise it with you until we are both pleased. In most cases that takes two to four rounds of revisions after the first draft.

Do I need a LinkedIn profile as well as a resume?

If you are a corporate professional, it’s critical. Recruiters search LinkedIn for candidates, so after your resume is finished I write a searchable headline and About section that helps the right people find you.

What is the difference between an executive resume writer and a professional resume writer?

The term professional resume writer is broad and does not say who the writer works with. An executive resume writer works with clients whose job titles are manager or higher. I also recommend choosing a writer with recruiting, marketing and communications experience, because a resume is a marketing document aimed at the recruiter or hiring manager.

How do I choose a resume writer?

Choose a writer who has recruiting or hiring experience, works directly with you, and asks which jobs you are targeting before writing anything. What is your turnaround timeframe?

Once I receive your deposit, I turnaround the first draft within a day. The first draft will contain questions that are highlighted in yellow. Once you respond, I’ll prepare the second draft and further iterations also within 24 hours. How quickly we complete the resume depends on how quickly you can respond to each iteration.

Do you work with clients outside New York?

Yes. I work with clients throughout the United States.

Can you help me move from the public sector to a corporate job?

Yes. I specialize in resumes for public sector professionals moving into the private sector, including clients from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the NYPD’s executive team.
